Lightweight Rigid Signs for Indoor Displays & Presentations
Foam board is the standard for trade show graphics, presentations, POP displays, and indoor directional signage. A polystyrene foam core sandwiched between smooth paper faces gives you a rigid, lightweight panel that’s easy to mount, prop on an easel, or hang with minimal hardware.
3/16″ vs. 1/2″ — Which to Spec
3/16″ (~5mm): Good rigidity up to about 24×36″. Very lightweight. Best for presentations, framing, and mounting prints. Lower cost.
1/2″ (~12mm): Rigid even at 4’x4′ and larger. Slightly more substantial feel. Best for free-standing displays, life-size cutouts, and larger format work. Higher cost.

Durability Note
Foam board is an indoor material. Direct sun, rain, and humidity will damage it. For outdoor use, spec Coroplast or PVC instead. For extended indoor display (6+ months), add gloss lamination to protect the surface from scuffing and fingerprints.
