When Standard Vinyl Won’t Stick
Every sign shop has had the callback: “The decal is peeling off.” Nine times out of ten, the surface was the problem — not the vinyl. High Tack solves that.
This is a 3.5 mil calendered film with a permanent, high-initial-tack adhesive specifically formulated for difficult substrates that standard vinyl can’t grip. We’re talking:
- Low-energy plastics — kayaks, ATVs, coolers, portable restrooms, plastic totes
- Textured surfaces — stucco, light aggregate, fiber cement board
- Powder-coated & painted metals — utility boxes, equipment housings, industrial enclosures
- Wood, ceramic tile, concrete — anywhere your client needs a graphic to stay put
When to Spec This vs. Standard Vinyl
If the surface is smooth, flat, and clean — standard 6 mil vinyl is fine and cheaper. Reach for High Tack when:
- The substrate has texture, porosity, or low surface energy
- Standard vinyl has already failed on the application
- The install environment involves moisture, temperature swings, or vibration
