The Go-To Reflective for Parking Signs & Vehicle Graphics
This is 3M’s workhorse reflective — an engineer-grade retroreflective vinyl that hits the sweet spot between performance and price. It’s the material most sign shops spec for standard parking signs, property signage, and fleet reflective markings.
Best Applications
- Parking & property signs — handicap, reserved, no parking, private property, tow-away
- Vehicle & trailer markings — DOT conspicuity, fleet identification, emergency vehicle graphics
- Directional & wayfinding — campus, industrial, and commercial property signage
- Real estate post signs — high-visibility “For Sale” and “For Lease” panels
How It Compares to HIP (3930)
Engineer-Grade (this product): 7-year durability, standard retroreflective brightness, ideal for parking and property signs. Lower cost.
HIP 3930: 10-year durability, 2–3x brighter, full MUTCD regulatory compliance. Higher cost.
Rule of thumb: If it’s a parking sign or property sign, engineer-grade is the right call. If it needs to meet MUTCD for traffic control, step up to the 3930.
Conformability
Designed for flat surfaces and simple curves only. This is not a wrap film — don’t try to apply it over rivets, corrugations, or compound curves. For those applications, spec the 3M IJ180cv3 cast vinyl instead.
